वागीशाद्याः सुमनसः सर्वार्थानामुपक्रमे ।
यन्नत्वा कृतकृत्याः स्युस्तं नमामि गजाननम् ॥
By whose worship, at commencement, Lord Brahma and other celestials successfully accomplish all activities, unto Him, the Lord sporting an elephant face, Lord Ganesha, I bow with devotion.
आवाहये तं गणराजदेवं रक्तोत्पलाभासमशेषवन्द्यम् ।
विघ्नान्तकं विघनहरं गणेशं भजामि रौद्रं सहितं च सिद्ध्या॥
I invoke the Lord Ganesha who is the leader of the retinue of Lord Shiva; whose body hue is like red-lotus; who is adorable to one and all. I adore Lord Ganesha who is the remover and anihilator of obstacles; the son of Lord Shiva and always accompanied by (Goddess) Siddhi.
आराध्यं यं सुमनसा पुरुषाः स्त्रियो वा कल्याण कल्पतारुमुक्तिफलान्युपेयुहा ।
मूलं भजध्वमनिशं परमं तमीशं ब्रह्मस्वरूपमुमया सह विद्ययेव ॥
By worshiping Whom with devotion, men and women get in abundance the fruits of the divine tree of benediction in the form of liberation, let that root be ceaselessly remembered – He is none other than the great Lord Shiva, present with Goddess Uma in for form of Brahman with pure knowledge.
ध्येयः सदा सवितृमण्डलमध्यवर्ती नारायणः सरसिजासनसन्निविष्टः ।
केयूरवान् मकरकुण्डलवान् किरीटी हारी हिरण्मयवपुर्धृतशङ्खचक्रः ॥
Narayana is the centre of the solar orb seated on a lotus flower, armlets on the arms, crocodile shaped earrings, diadem on the head, necklace on the chest, body of golden hue, holding the divine conch and discuss in the hands, should always be meditated upon.
ध्येयं सदा परिभवघ्नमभीष्टदेहं तीर्थस्पदं शिवविरञ्चिनुतं शरण्यम् ।
भृत्यार्तिहं प्रणतपालभवाब्धिपोतं वन्दे महापुरुष ते चरणारविन्दम् ॥
O Most exalted One! the protector of devotees, I bow unto thy Lotus feet, which are worthy of constantly being meditated upon, which put an end to all discomfiture, yield all desired boons, which is the abode of all sacred places, are extolled by Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma, afford shelter to all and dispel the distress of devotees and which serve as vessel for crossing the ocean of mundane existence.
नारायणं नमस्कृत्यं नरं चैव नरोत्तमम् ।
देवीं सरस्वतीं चैव ततो जयमुदीरयेत् ॥
After obeissance to Narayana, Narottama and Sarasvati, one shall read the Puranas.
